The Area Sales Director (ASD) in the Advanced Wound Care, Critical Care and Continence franchise will serve as the leader for his/her assigned area and have direct responsibility for overseeing, managing and strategically guiding a team of Regional Managers and their direct reports to achieve corporate objectives and sales goals and be accountable for successful execution of business initiatives within the respective Area. As a proven leader, the ASD must be a seasoned sales professional with a strong understanding of the business, industry, organizational trends and customer needs. The ASD will be responsible for coaching and the development of the sales team to ensure achievement of all Area objectives. Reporting directly to the Senior National Sales Director, the ASD will be a point of escalation for customers, sales team members and other internal and external stakeholders of the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The ASD plans, directs, implements, and reinforces policies and monitors activities for a specific geographical Area by performing the following duties including (but not limited to):

+ Achieve organizational objectives through effective leadership of assigned Area

+ Coach, lead and motivate direct reports to success and ensure goal attainment while fostering an environment of teamwork and sharing winning best practices across the nation

+ Develop and communicate strategic sales plan and validate the ability to pull through by demonstrating revenue growth

+ Ensure marketing plans and strategies are implemented and executed upon effectively resulting in achievement of sales objectives

+ Consistently assess the execution and implementation of the sales plan utilizing sales and CRM data

+ Manage robust performance management plans to overcome deficiencies through consistent coaching and assessment including implementation of improvement plans or execution of termination activities when necessary in collaboration with HR

+ Continuously strengthen and enhance diverse talent through recruiting, consistent talent assessments, development and succession plans

+ Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners (i.e. Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Healthcare Systems, Channel Management, Clinical, Human Resources, Sales Training, Legal and other internal and external stakeholders)

+ Serves as a liaison between corporate functions and field sales

+ Plan and conduct sales meetings in accordance with National marketing plans and programs or as needed with Commercial leadership

+ Submit reports, business and personnel updates, and marketing requests in a timely manner and other documents accurately

+ Interpret and apply Health Care Compliance Guidelines to all sales and marketing activities

+ Keeps the organization's purpose, vision & mission and values & behaviors at the forefront of decision making and actions

Skills Required:

+ Speaking: English

+ Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in related field or MBA preferred

+ Proven success as a leader with a minimum of 5 years managing a sales team

+ Proven track record of sales success with a minimum of 10 years Commercial sales experience


+ Very strong direct people management / leadership experience required, including prior experience leading sales teams is required.

+ Proven success in driving sales objectives effectively

+ Proven success hiring and developing high performing sales professionals

+ Ability to build and deliver a strategic sales plan

+ Must live in and maintain residence in covered geography for the duration of time in role

+ Must hold valid driver's license and clean driving record


+ Ability to hire, lead, develop, coach, and engage high performing, diverse teams is required.

+ Very strong communication skills

+ Very strong demonstrated leadership skills

+ Ability to build and maintain a strong team culture and environment

+ Demonstrate capability to innovate, collaborate and deliver results

Working Conditions:

+ Extensive travel required

+ May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed

+ Home office required not provided by company

+ Normal hearing, visual acuity and manual dexterity are required to listen, speak, read, write, use telephone, work with computer and handle files and sample products.
