Lost Cabin Gas Plant Overview

The Lost Cabin Gas Plant (LCGP) is located in Lysite, WY. It consists of two trains processing a total of ~246 MMCFD which generates sales of ~157 MMCFD. The Inlet Feed consists of ~13% H2S & 20% CO2 and is received from the 8 Big Horn wells situated to the Northwest and Northeast. The sulfur is recovered and converted to a liquid marketable product. The CO2 is transferred to the Denbury Compressor station for use in oil field support by third parties. This too is a revenue stream. Associated equipment includes many types of centrifugal and PD pumps, gas and air compressors, gas fired and steam driven turbines, furnaces, incinerators, flare stacks, separators, scrubbers, tanks, aerial exchangers, tube/shell exchangers, etc.

Description

The Planning & Turnaround (P&T) Superintendent is accountable for planning, turnaround and warehouse management at Lost Cabin Gas Plant. The P&T Supt is an integral member of the LCGP leadership team and is expected to work closely with management, operations, maintenance, engineering and HSE in the execution of the LCGP strategies and goals. This position will ensure that all work is planned and executed in compliance with corporate, L48, Great Plains Business Unit, LCGP processes as well as PSM, RMP, L48 HSE Management System procedures. Specifically, it is accountable for delivery of safe and efficient turnarounds. The position manages a team of 12 company and contract personnel including TAR Specialist (2), maintenance planners and schedulers (4), warehouse personnel (5) and admin assistant.

Note: This position works a rotational schedule at the Lost Cabin Gas Plant in Lysite, WY and may require occasional travel to Houston and schedule adjustments to align with turnaround requirements.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Safety leadership in personal, employee, contractor, and community safety
  • Active participation in the LCGP Leadership Team including disseminating and upholding the standards and expectations of Lost Cabin
  • An active role in the development and execution of Lost Cabin Gas Plant turnarounds and maintenance outages, including, work orders, materials, scheduling and coordinating schedule execution during the event. The role also includes managing TAR processes and procedures as well as Supply Chain interfaces for materials and contract expediting and assisted reviews
  • Supervise the performance of the P&S and TAR team. Provide mentorship and direction on achieving planning and scheduling excellence and improving work efficiencies through proper planning of the work
  • Monitor safe work practice verification systems that ensure processes are being executed as intended and to establish improvement initiatives as gaps are identified. Actively participate in BBS, Focus audit and LSR verification processes
  • Network and engage with other corporate and L48 functions to ensure efficient, effective, and consistent application of planning and scheduling, turnaround and warehouse practices
  • Ensures training and development of personnel around the effective use of reports, KPIs, trends, forecasting and other tools to contrast current performance against goals & identify areas for continued improvement
  • Manage the P&S budget and lead cost management efforts to support OPEX reductions
  • Ensure that the Lost Cabin Gas Plant warehouse conforms to company polices & procedures and is properly stocked with equipment and materials for the execution of the planned work. Holds the Warehouse Supervisor accountable for all warehouse management
  • Promotes a culture where setting goals, achieving and measuring results is expected
  • Identify and validate opportunities and standard methodologies that contribute to improving the safe operation of the facility
  • Accountable for coordinating peer assists, review processes and outside consultancy when deemed to make valuable contributions
  • Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • 15 years of related experience in the oil and gas industry
  • 3 years of leadership experience
  • Valid drivers license
  • Experience in upstream process safety and operations/maintenance related activities
  • Fundamental knowledge of operating integrity or process safety management system
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10%
  • Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in science, engineering, or related field
  • 10 years specific experience in operations, including leadership or management roles
  • 5 years of operations based leadership experience
  • Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) and Material Management (MM) modules
  • Proven and strong interpersonal, influence and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and computer skills
  • Self-starter and highly organized individual
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify and build solutions for process and information weaknesses
